This antique circa 1900 Varamin runner is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian rug distinguished by its elongated format and richly geometric village design. The field is organized with repeating diamond and latch-hook motifs framed by multiple borders, with beautifully time-softened color and visible age wear that give the piece exceptional character and collector appeal. Varamin is a town southeast of Tehran in central Iran, producing rugs distinguished by the famous "mina khani" design — an all-over repeat pattern of large floral rosettes connected by delicate vine scrolls, creating a rhythmic, endlessly repeating lattice of great elegance. The mina khani pattern is closely associated with Varamin and is among the most beautiful of all Persian repeat designs.
