This antique Persian Bakhtiari rug, circa 1920, is a hand-knotted, one-of-a-kind textile distinguished by its elaborate ivory medallion, terracotta field, and luminous turquoise blue accents. Dense floral vinery, palmettes, and finely articulated guard borders showcase the formal symmetry and collector-grade detail associated with Persian village weaving. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, dining area, or office.
Faded warm tones of terracotta, ivory, turquoise, rust, slate blue, charcoal, sage, and coral, with a terracotta field.
The Baktiary is a tribe located in western Iran. They produce colorful geometric rugs often with a compartment design filled with stylized floral motifs or bold medallions. The village rugs are woven on a cotton foundation with the nomadic pieces on a woolen foundation.
