This antique Karaje runner, circa 1920, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian tribal weaving with a richly detailed sequence of geometric medallions across a warm rust field. Its hand-knotted wool pile is animated by ivory, teal, navy, and coral accents, framed by layered guard borders and a dramatic dark navy main border. An ideal statement runner for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Vibrant warm tones of rust, navy, teal, ivory, coral, light blue, terracotta, and charcoal, with a rust field.
Karaje is a town in north west Iran in the Azerbaijan province close to Heriz. They are known for producing geometric rugs similar to Heriz on a cotton foundation and single wefted.
