Antique Afshar Runner Rug (3' x 10')
Dimensions: 3'0" x 10'0" (91 cm x 305 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique Afshar runner, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind tribal rug with a striking sequence of stepped diamond medallions and finely drawn geometric motifs. Its softly faded palette of ivory, sky blue, taupe, and deep brown gives the hand-knotted design a beautifully timeworn character, while the narrow border and elongated 3' x 10' format make it especially elegant and versatile. An ideal choice for a hallway, entryway, or narrow living space.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, brown, sky blue, taupe, camel, and slate, with a brown field.

Afshar is a tribal group of people located in Southwest Iran, the Caucasian mountains, and Turkey. Most Afshari rugs are produced in village workshops in Southwest Iran. They are woven mostly on wool in a squarish format. The design usually features three center medallions surrounded by small geometric motifs where the use of botehs in the design is common.
