Zeki Müren (1931–1996) was one of Turkey's most beloved artists — a singer, composer, and cultural icon of extraordinary glamour, known as "The Sun of Art." Rugs bearing his name are Turkish Art Deco pieces associated with the mid-twentieth century, a period when Turkish workshops produced bold, decorative carpets that embodied the same glamorous aesthetic sensibility for which Müren himself became famous.
