This antique Hamadan rug, circa 1920, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian village weaving with a striking geometric medallion composition and richly drawn border. Its faded aqua-blue field, ivory corner spandrels, and taupe-brown accents create a beautifully time-softened palette that highlights the character of its hand-knotted craftsmanship and intricate tribal-inspired patterning. An ideal accent for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded cool tones of aqua, ivory, taupe, brown, charcoal, and beige, with a aqua field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
