The design pairs a warm camel field with chocolate brown framing, pale blue corner spandrels, and rose, ivory, and gold accents, creating the refined balance and decorative geometry prized in vintage Central Asian carpets. Khotan rugs are from the Chinese autonomous region of Xinjiang, Chinese Turkestan. These unique rugs made in the towns Khotan, Kashgar, and Yarkand are often referred to as Samarkand after the main trading town in the region.
