Dimensions: 5'5" x 8'6" (165 cm x 259 cm).
This vintage Shiraz rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece that showcases the tribal artistry of southwest Persia in a beautifully time-softened palette. Its geometric field, stepped lozenge medallion, and layered border motifs create a refined yet character-rich composition with the distinctive presence collectors seek in hand-knotted village rugs. The subdued coloration and balanced patterning make it an ideal choice for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, taupe, beige, camel, and sand, with a ivory field.
Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs.
