This antique Hamadan runner, hand-knotted in Persia circa 1930, is a handmade one-of-a-kind piece with a beautifully elongated all-over design and refined village character. Its ivory field is enlivened by soft sky blue, camel, and brown geometric-floral motifs framed by a narrow border, giving the rug a graceful, time-softened presence that works beautifully in layered traditional interiors. An ideal choice for a hallway, entryway, or along the side of a bedroom.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, brown, sky blue, camel, taupe, slate, and charcoal, with a ivory field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
