Dimensions: 1'10" x 5'0" (56 cm x 152 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique Karaje runner, woven in Persia circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece distinguished by its elongated format and crisp tribal geometry. The hand-knotted design features a softly faded ivory field with a sequence of stepped medallions and angular motifs framed by a narrow border, giving it the refined character collectors prize in early village rugs. Its understated palette and linear composition make it an elegant accent for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, beige, slate, taupe, and camel, with a ivory field.
Karaje is a town in north west Iran in the Azerbaijan province close to Heriz. They are known for producing geometric rugs similar to Heriz on a cotton foundation and single wefted.
