This antique Hamadan rug, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian village weaving distinguished by its ivory field, angular medallion framework, and softly weathered blue corner spandrels. The hand-knotted design balances tribal geometry with floral detail, creating a beautifully aged decorative surface with strong border definition and collector-friendly character. An ideal accent for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, sky blue, charcoal, taupe, slate, cream, and brown, with a ivory field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
