This antique circa 1910 Khotan rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind East Turkestan textile with a softly faded camel and ivory palette. Its hand-knotted wool pile presents paired round medallions amid delicate floral, cloud-band, and geometric motifs, framed by layered borders with graceful age-worn character. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, bedroom, or dining area.
Faded warm tones of camel, ivory, sand, taupe, beige, warm gray, and brown, with a camel field.
Khotan rugs are from the Chinese autonomous region of Xinjiang, Chinese Turkestan. These unique rugs made in the towns Khotan, Kashgar, and Yarkand are often referred to as Samarkand after the main trading town in the region.
