This antique Hamadan runner, circa 1940, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian rug with a beautifully elongated tribal-geometric design and a softly timeworn palette. Its blue field is framed by an ivory border and organized around a column of linked diamond motifs, with finely drawn repeating elements that showcase the character of hand-knotted craftsmanship and the decorative depth collectors prize in vintage village weavings. An elegant choice for a hallway, entryway, or narrow living space.
Faded cool tones of blue, ivory, beige, taupe, camel, and brown, with a blue field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
