Dimensions: 4'0" x 6'5" (122 cm x 196 cm).
Circa: 1940.
This antique Turkish Tulu rug, circa 1940, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece distinguished by its restrained minimalist character and deeply tactile woven surface. Its softly faded taupe-brown field is animated by subtle tonal variation and abrash-like horizontal striations, giving the composition a quiet, sculptural presence prized in vintage Anatolian floor coverings. An ideal accent for a bedroom, living room, or office.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, mushroom, camel, brown, and ivory, with a taupe field.
Tulu rugs are woven in the Konya area of Turkey. They were originally made as bedding rugs. The Term “Tulu” means “long haired”. They have a long lustrous pile with a course weave and bold archaic designs which make them ideal for contemporary décor.
