This antique Hamadan rug, hand-knotted in Persia circa 1930, is a handmade one-of-a-kind runner with a striking tribal geometric design and a sequence of stepped diamond medallions. Its softly faded camel field, rose and rust accents, and angular border motifs showcase the character and artistry that make Hamadan weavings so collectible. An ideal centerpiece for a hallway, entryway, or living room.
Faded warm tones of camel, rose, ivory, rust, taupe, sky blue, and brown, with a camel field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
