Dimensions: 3'2" x 5'9" (97 cm x 175 cm).
Circa: 1920.
This antique Hamadan rug, circa 1920, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian village weaving with a striking geometric medallion design and richly layered border system. Its angular motifs, deep abrashed field, and warm rust accents give the piece strong tribal character and collector-friendly decorative presence, while the hand-knotted construction and aged patina underscore its authenticity. An ideal accent for an entryway, hallway, or office.
Faded warm tones of charcoal, rust, ivory, brick, taupe, slate, and crimson, with a charcoal field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
