This antique Hamadan runner from Persia, circa 1940, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece with a beautifully aged all-over geometric design and a softly timeworn palette. Its hand-knotted character is expressed through the intricate repeating field, angular border motifs, and faded earth-tone coloration that gives the rug exceptional depth and decorative versatility. An elegant choice for a hallway, entryway, or narrow living space.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, ivory, camel, terra cotta, beige, sage, and brown, with a taupe field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
