Vintage Bidjar Runner Rug (3' x 13')
Dimensions: 3'1" x 13'4" (94 cm x 406 cm).
This vintage Bidjar runner is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian rug with a refined all-over design set against a soft blue field and framed by an elegant ivory border. Repeating floral and geometric motifs, gently faded tones, and crisp border articulation give it the quiet sophistication collectors prize in hand-knotted village weaving. Its long, narrow format makes it an ideal choice for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded cool tones of ivory, light blue, taupe, brown, rose, and charcoal, with a light blue field.

Bidjar is a Kurdish town in northwestern Iran, renowned for producing what are often called the "iron rugs of Persia" — the heaviest, most densely woven and structurally rigid pile rugs in the world. The distinctive construction technique, in which the weft threads are hammered tightly into place during weaving, creates an almost board-like stiffness and an exceptionally dense pile that wears virtually indefinitely.
Bidjar designs include elaborate herati patterns, large floral medallions, and the distinctive "garden" or vase carpet format. Their palette tends toward deep jewel tones — rich madder reds, indigos, and ivory. Bidjar rugs are ideal for high-traffic areas and are among the most durable of all Oriental rugs.
